Noise Control

Anyone who has experienced significant tree loss nearby knows first hand the increase ambient noise levels that can come along with that. If you haven't experienced the tree loss yourself, please consider the following:

Light Rail is Coming

Those of you closest to the new light rail line coming in the not-to-distant future will probably appreciate the most noise control. New home construction combined with large tree removal can create an echo chamber as the noise of the train bounces off of one hard surface to the next until it reaches your house. Our trees help provide a barrier to these noises by dissipating the sound waves within their branches, needles and leaves.

I-90

Living within earshot of I-90 is a noise challenge for many in Enatai, especially with car tires rolling across expansion joints. You will certainly know this sound if you've heard it before. As the trees come down, that I-90 noise will reach further and further into the neighborhood. If you are currently residing in a house that has little or no noise from I-90, you may experience the noise in the future as the trees are cut down.

Concrete Walls or Trees?

Some neighborhoods have resorted to building tall concrete walls to block infiltration from nearby noise generators. If the choice came down to concrete walls or trees to perform this noise filtering duty, which would be more visually appealing to you?
